About the year of the light
After a worldwide initiative of scientific and educational institutions, UNESCO, non-profit organizations and associations, technological platforms and commercial subjects, the General Meeting of the United Nations declared 2015 an International year of light and light-based technologies. The goal of this is to remind the citizens of the entire world of the important role the light and optic technologies play in their day-to-day life and in future development of society. Events planned in 2015 will use this opportunity to inspire, educated and connect not only “light fans” worldwide.
